Yat Tung Heen has been bestowed one Michelin Star for its selection of Cantonese specialties, in particular, the dimsum, soup, seafood and tofu dishes. With an excellent reputation for its service, food and elegant decor, it is no wonder that the eatery is a popular destination for large group gatherings, business dinners or family gatherings alike in a dining room. Located at the Eaton Hotel, the restaurant is conveniently located a few minutes away from the Jordan MTR Station by foot. The restaurant has a beautiful elegant design. A lift takes you beneath the building, underground to a magnificently large banquet hall, brightly lit and beige-coloured. The restaurant has a modern Chinese decor with comfortable chairs and a few plants here and there. It really is hard to believe that 336 are able to fit in there. Loud with chatter and clinking of glasses, the atmosphere is lively and happy. Yat Tung Heen has an extensive menu with a selection of traditional Chinese cuisine. Some of its award-winning dishes include the Mandarin Fish Rolls with Truffle Sauce, Honey-glazed Barbecue Pork and Beancurd Trio. Unfortunately I did not get to try it all, but nonethless I was sure nothing on the menu would disappoint. Explosion of soup and minced pork with vegetables. Rich, warm inside. Left- Excellent combination of flavors. Chewy-mochi like skin. Fresh vegetables and shrimp. Delightful Right- One of the best steamed shrimp dumplings I've ever tasted. Shrimps were fresh, juicy, chewy and cooked to perfection. Steamed Barbecue Pork Buns Excellent Char-Siu pork- perfectly sweetened and tender. Sweet soft warm bun. Steamed Custard Buns with Custard Egg Yolk Steaming egg yolk- salty and sweet. Rich egg flavor Steamed Rice Flour Rolls with Barbecue Pork Again, excellent Char-Siu Pork. Chewy rice flour roll with delicious soy sauce and seasoning Steamed Chicken Feet with Chu Hou Sauce Delightful combination of spices. Slimy chicken skin. Fragrant sauce. Baked Barbecue Pork Pastries with Sesame Good combination of flavours, would have liked a bit more to differentiate this from the Steamed Barbecue Pork Buns. Signautre dish- Beancurd Trio. An absolute must-order. My personal favorite was the fried bean curds. Full of garlic flavor and spices, it was perfect and I couldn't stop eating them.
