Supergiant is a hidden gem in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the Causeway Bay district. Packed in the slim Mira Moon Hotel, my family was lucky to uncover the hidden treasure cove of delicacies. The Mira Moon itself has a very abstract, but contemporary interior design. Streaks of red, black and ancient Chinese wood and marble are the central themes used to decorate the interior. Supergiant seems to match this theme precisely. Unique to the Mira Moon Hotel, Supergiant is a Tapas & Cocktail, incorporating elements of Spanish tapas with Chinese mythology inspired cocktails. The menu is carefully and exotically curated by a team of talented chefs and the restaurant itself is designed by Dutch famed Marcel Wanders. The moment we entered the restaurant, I was enticed by the magnificent, intricate white sculptures and ornate black chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The furniture was carefully selected to match that Chinese Spanish cuisine. It was beautiful. The meal began promptly when we sat down, as we were served a delicious tropical cocktail, with grapefruit, orange and other citrusy delights. The drink was very cool, welcoming and fresh. It was a wonderful start to the meal. We came for the Express Surf-n-Turf lunch, which consisted of the following menu. I chose to have the salmon. We began with a wide range of appetisers to share. I definitely really enjoyed how they mixed up the Chinese cuisine with the Chinese spices and Spanish flavours with the crispy skin together. My favorite dish had to be the calamari. It was very unique, with a black squid ink sauce on the side and a different type of crunchiness. I also liked how it was not that greasy and the portion size was ideal. Soon enough arrived my much anticipated salmon dish. The presentation was almost too beautiful too eat, but I had to relieve my grumbling tummy. The first bite was heavenly. The sweetness and saltiness of the Ponzu sauce complemented by the tender and perfectly glazed salmon skin was breathtaking. I remember not being to control myself and gulping down the whole fish within 15 minutes. It was delicious, definitely one of the best cooked salmon dishes I've had in a while. As well as that, the vegetables on the side were cooked to the maximum crunchiness and had a really lovely flavour. Below is a gallery of the other surf-n-turf options and desert we had to follow up. We loved the restaurant so much, we came back for a second round. This time the menu was assorted with a new array of dishes. We preferred the first time better, but the second time did not disappoint us at all.
